COURSE WORK
The educational aspect of Diaconate Formation is very important.  Just as in any other profession, work in ministry requires developed skills and knowledge on all aspects of the Church as well as personal development of skills that will be needed in future ministry to the Christian Faithful.  The educational
part of Diaconate Formation will begin in the second
year and last a total of four years.  This part of the
formation process is conducted by the St. Meinrad
Diaconate Formation Program. Additional detail and
a listing of courses can be found below.

SAINT MEINRAD DIACONATE FORMATION PROGRAM
Saint Meinrad has almost a century and a half of offering quality education and formation for ministry – an integrated process of spiritual growth, intellectual advancement and the development of professional identity and skill.  Saint Meinrad selects and assigns lecturer both regular faculty from the School of Theology and others who lecture as adjuncts.  The academic component of the program spans four years.  Courses are generally offered as two course units each in the fall and spring semesters with additional coursework or practica offered in January and June.  Course work will be graded but no degree is awarded at the completion of the formation program.  Those desiring to enter Saint Meinrad as a graduate student may received credit (currently sixteen hours) for the work completed in Diaconate Formation.  More information is available on the St. Meinrad website at www.saintmeinrad.edu.
